I am the daughter of a registered nurse and have always wanted to be in the medical field. My road to becoming an acupuncturist began in a small room with two student acupuncturists. I received my first ever treatment and immediately after walked into the dean’s office to sign up for the upcoming semester. I always tease that they gave me the “sign your life away” needle as this was the most impulsive thing I had done in my life. After earning my Master’s in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from The Academy of Chinese Healing Arts, I chose to leave my home state of Florida before settling into private practice. I traveled across the country visiting family and friends and found my paradise here in the Northwest.
Living life through my passion for movement and sensory pleasures inspires my days. I enjoy a daily yoga and mindfulness practice, and strive to enjoy our beautiful pacific northwest daily through hiking, riding my bicycle and finding any opportunity to get outside. One of my greatest joys is food and I strive to pack as much nutrition and flavor as I can into each day. Mountain biking is how I push my limits and challenge myself to stay young and spunky. I enjoy sharing my passion for living life with my clients. I am grateful for my amazing family, supportive friends, beautiful environment and a profession that inspires me every day.
I opened Acupuncture Works LLC in May of 2001 and have been blessed to work in a career I am passionate about. My philosophy in medicine is to treat each person as a unique individual, treating the person rather than the condition or disease. I enjoy discussing home care therapies, nutrition, lifestyle, herbs, acupressure and relaxation techniques. In my experience this provides a cooperative relationship where practitioner and patient work together to promote optimum health and well-being. In my sessions, I pride myself on having a professional and caring manner. I take the time to explain what I am doing and I love to educate my clients on the workings of acupuncture and Chinese medicine. I enjoy treating people of all ages and walks of life and am committed to finding ways of making acupuncture and holistic medicine accessible to more people. After all of these years I continue to be inspired by the innate healing ability of the human body and spirit. It would be an honor to be a part of your road to health and well-being.
